rainy days.
A few days ago I was given the opportunity to assist a professional photographer working on a film set in Murrwillumbar. My friend Mark rogers is doing the stills photography on the feature film that stars John Hurt and Emily Barclay. Unfortunately the weather was really bad so the outside scene that I could attend was postponed so now I cant go. I am very disappointed, I was looking foreword to...

Dreaming
Today I was given a media-pass to the Indigenous festival in Woodford called the Dreaming Festival. It is Australia’s largest festival celebrating indigenous peoples of the world. This means I will be able to take photos backstage and in the festival, of all the singers dancers, performers and speakers. I am so happy and exited to take photos there. I am sure it will be very challenging but...

My position on copyright
Since I have copyrighted some of my works on flickr (through Creative Commons) I have realised that it is more complex than I originally thought. I copyrighted one of my pictures under a license that allows my work to be used for for commercial use, though it must be attributed to me and is not allowed to be changed into any derivative. I have been back to the Creative Commons licensing page and...

Copyright and photographers
Today I looked at the copyright issues that are most relevant to photographers.  I went to the Australian Copyright Council website and downloaded the information sheet about photography and copyright. It was a great website, they give you a interesting summary of the key points and what copyright protects. The key points are; • ”Generally, the copyright in photographs lasts for the life...

Picasa Evaluation
“Picasa is a software application for organizing and editing digital photos, originally created by Idealab and now owned by Google. “Picasa” is a blend of the name of Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, the phrase mi casa for “my house,” and “pic” for pictures (personalized art). In July 2004, Google acquired Picasa and began offering Picasa for free download. At the...

Flickr Evaluation
“Flickr is an image and video hosting website, web services suite, and online community platform. It was one of the earliest Web 2.0applications. In addition to being a popular Web site for users to share personal photographs, the service is widely used bybloggers as a photo repository. Its popularity has been fueled by its organization tools, which allow photos to be tagged and browsed...

Photo sharing site evaluation
At the beginning of this course I said that I would investigate and evaluate a number of photo sharing sites or website platforms. I have looked at Flickr, Picasa, Dreamweaver, Iweb and MobileMe. I have decided that for me, Dreamweaver is the best option as it allows me to  create exactly what I have in mind.  I will now give my 2 cents on all the photo sharing platforms that I have investigated.

TimeLine check
As I am half way through term two I thought it would be a good time to check my timeline from my original ‘statement of intent’ and see if I am on track. I think it is also a good time to evaluate my work. As for my timeline I am on track, actually I am about a month ahead of schedule which is great. I originally thought it would take much longer to complete my website as I am making...
